Palestinian Civil War in Gaza; UN Declares It's Bush's Fault

Hatched by Dafydd

I never was able to get the software working to allow readers to vote on Dhimmi of the Month, but I thought this might be a propitious time to dust off the concept (if not execution) for this incredible story.

Here is the sequence of steps:

  1. Israel decides to evacuate from Gaza.
  2. Israel sends troops into Gaza, not to attack Palestinians, but to herd several thousand Jewish settlers into buses and trucks and ship them back into Israel. No Jews left in Gaza (no live ones, anyway).
  3. Palestinian voters decide to thank Israel by electing Hamas.
  4. The European Union, the United States, and many other countries decide to boycott the Palestinian Authority, now officially run by a mob of thugs on everybody's list of terrorist groups.
  5. Fatah gets angry at losing power.
  6. Hamas and Fatah begin to fight.
  7. Fighting escalates.
  8. Fighting escalates.
  9. Fighting escalates; recall this war is between rival Palestinian terrorist groups fighting each other over the "spoils" of the Gaza Strip (which seems to me like fighting a duel over a hooker, but you know).
  10. Fighting escalates.
  11. United Nations Middle East Envoy Alvaro de Soto writes a secret report to U.N. Secretary General Nanki-Poo; declares that George W. Bush is to blame!

I rib you not; here is the Guardian story.

You just can't make this stuff up. Evidently, it's America's fault for urging civilized nations to boycott Hamas, which every national and international body agrees is a gang of terrorists. If only we had embraced Hamas, worked with them to exterminate the Jews, and not riled them up, then surely all this wouldn't be happening now. Oh, a few Juden might be killed here and there, Israel might be obliterated... but we wouldn't have the dreadful spectacle of Arabs killing Arabs.

So... it's Bush's fault. Remember that for next time.

So far as I know Bush is not telling people to throw other people off of buildings. I will say this, by supporting elections in the region Bush did give people the chance to see what happens when you get what you want. They wanted Hamas.

...and just because the Bush admin urged the elections and just because the so-called 'Palistinians' elected a thuggish regime, does not mean that we then have to blindly support that regime. This is what the mature and sane people call CONSEQUENCES. It was right and good to allow the 'Palistinians' free choice, it is necessary and good for them to have to experience the consequences of that choice. But the good readers of this blog already know that.

Bush gets blamed because he is the only sane adult in the room. You can't possibly hold infintile lunatics responsible for their own infintile lunatic actions.

And at what point did it become our responsibility to pay any money whatsoever to the Palestinian Authority? Who signed us up for that?

Well of course it is Bush's fault. After all, were it not for Bush Eve wouldn't have eaten the apple and we would all still be living in paradise. He urged Genghis Kahn on, helped elect Hitler, and gave the Marquis de Sade lessons in how to torture people. All right thinking liberals know that and can't understand why there are people who don't. In fact, it was the evil Bush who broke up the last ice age and started the planet warming and now we are all going to fry, but Karl Rove had to help him on that one. Don't forget that Bush helped arrange the payment to Judas. I could go on with Bush's crimes, but I'm sure you get the message.

That whole area is speckled with insane backwards thinking asshats. It doesn't make sense to nations with the same mentality, or to those who are sympathetic to that mentality, to hold said asshats responsible for their actions when it is so convenient to blame the United States and GWB.

The UN is just a shell of its former self; the very intention of what it was designed to do as lost as Paris Hilton in a library. I think a parallel can be made from an Obi-wan quote:

"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany. We must be cautious."
Like most leftist thinking, the UN is not to be taken seriously.

Now that Israel has left its Histradrut Labor leadership and gone to the right, the International Left behind most of the terror-enabling at the UN hates Israel with unbridled passion. Along with the USA and Australia, two bastions of sanity[for the time being] in a world being perverted by "That Old Mole," which continues to cause death and destruction in Zimbabwe, Cuba, N. Korea, [Saddam's Iraq was also a Socialist paradise in the making], and Venezuela/Bolivia as K-12 aspirants to economic suicide.

The UN is a collection of losers and half-wits, so the muddled membership constantly sides with moronic death-wish cults like the Palestinian Authority.

Big D:

a) September, 1993; (b) President Bill Clinton. Part of the 1993 Oslo Accords is that the (then) G-7 provide "economic development" to the Palestinian Authority, which meant direct foreign aid from the United States and from Europe to Yasser Arafat.

That has continued ever since; though in 2005, President Bush altered the payment process to go directly to one particular Palestinian officer (who was thought to be more honest than Fatah as a party).

And of course, when Hamas was elected in January 2006 and subsequently repudiated all the elements of Oslo, Bush ordered all funds going to the PA to be frozen until such time as the non-country came to its senses, which I presume means a permanent ban. (At some point, this was modified to exclude humanitarian relief in the form of food and medicine, but I'm not sure when that happened.)

In the same document, DeSoto and his staff of deranged anti-semites wrote that the present chaos in Gaza is a direct result of Israel’s decision to withdraw. Therefore, they blame Israel for occupying Gaza, then they blame Israel for withdrawing under UN directives. It isn’t just Mr. DeSoto who needs to be shown the door, but the entire corrupt secretariat because it cannot be reformed for the foreseeable future.

Ambassador Bolton had begun to force reforms when he corralled the countries which provide almost 90% of UN funding to push for UN reforms. Of course, most of the General Assembly consists of foreign aid sponges who voted these reforms down. The next step might have been a devastating (to the UN) financial boycott. However, this impetus died when Congress refused to confirm Bolton to a permanent position. With a Jackass Party administration likely after the 2008 elections, there is little likelihood that a Democratic Bolton equivalent would be appointed.

Lost in all of the news from Gaza, a new sport has been born: competitive defenestration. I hope to soon watch this event broadcast from some sporting milieu in Riyadh, Damascus, or the Persian Gulf States.
