Chicken Little Revisited

Hatched by Korso

Yes, it's true. CNN anchor Deb Feyerick actually thinks that global warming extends its malign influence even into space, the final frontier. While chatting with Bill Nye the Science Guy about the recent wild weather in the northeast corridor, she postulated the question:

Talk about something else that’s falling from the sky and that is an asteroid. What’s coming our way? Is this an effect of, perhaps, of global warming or is this just some meteoric occasion?

Sounds to me as if Deb did most of her research by watching Armageddon on TBS late night. Remember that these are the people informing the public about environmental issues, folks.

Actually, you see, she has a doctorate in physics, and as such - is totally familiar with the general theory of relativity. She is aware that the massive global warming means that there is mass in that added energy...and this increased mass has pulled the asteroid dangerously close to the earth.

Oh, forgot, she's an English lit major.

She thinks Einstein wrote a "Theory of Relatives".

Deb Fayerick is very much on to something here. As things such as metals are heated, they expand, thus causing additional mass. The additional gravitational attraction would easily and justifabily pluck those pesky asteroids from their current path andcareem them into us. This has already happened in earths history. Clearly their is scientific consensus that the dinasaurs were made extinct when an asteroid hit the arth.
The dust choked them just as if it were coming from a H3 Hummer.

We are fairly certain, that the cause was the heating of earth by the fire breathing types
of the big lizards. Less certain is whether Draco Volans was soley responsible or if
Draconis Orientalis added to the heating.

What Deb didn't get the chance to say was that science is now learning that other types
of man made heating is affecting us as well. As she and others such as Chris Matthews
go into heat, listening to the president, the temperature of our planet will soar.
Temperatures will climb just like the pterodactyl and will cause worldwide extinction of
all thinking beings.

The positive side to this for Deb, is that at least the gun control problem will be history also.
