It makes no difference. A certain percentage of the world population seems genetically predisposed to believe in end of the world predictions, and on a related note, claims of divine protection. At least for this one, there was not a high body count among the supremely naive when the clock ticked over on Dec. 21. The same cannot be said of many other such events throughout history. My own personal favorite was the Children's Crusade.
