Candidatibalism
Can somebody please explain to me why conservative bloggers are transcendentally driven to kill and eat their own candidates?
...If you know who I mean (and I think you do).

Actually, I am not sure whom you mean. That said, there seem a large number of conservatives for whom even Reagan today would not be sufficiently conservative. Moreover, the most savage attacks on Gingrich are coming from the right - but those appear to be from Romneyites.

Leftists have learned that Character Assassination is often the only way they have of maintaining themselves in power.
You want the public to ignore scandal but it has never lost its taste to titillate.
Why do you think millions want to know who in Hollyweird is screwing who, and who is having whose baby?
You would have much more luck rather than trying to change human nature, applying the tactics of Character Assassination to Leftist morons. They commit much more egregious crimes and scandals, as they think the rules they want for everybody else, don't apply to them.

We eat our own because, as much as we hate it, we can't seem to free ourselves from thralldom to the MSM. We know that they're liars. We know they're biased to the left. We know these endless debates work to their advantage and not to the advantage of the party. And of course, those same endless debates provide ammunition so that our blogs can keep shooting ourselves in the foot. But we keep running campaigns that do nothing but provide ammunition for the Dims in the general election. Truth be told, I think it would be better if we ditched the primary system - and the campaigning it entails - and went back to smoke filled rooms at conventions.

Not sure what you're referring to exactly, but I was outraged by Powerline's article today about the Herman Cain saga. Finally, a candidate gave the right answer to such questions: This is nobody's business but my own, and my family's - NO COMMENT. Which is my attitude always. Why am I supposed to care about a candidate's sex life? Anyhow, I just don't. So up pops Scott at Powerline, and shouts: an admission of guilt!
Thanks very much.
