I see that the person offering the prayer is wearing a kipah (Yarmulkah - skull cap). Did the pilgrims import a Rabbi? (:-)
Actually, every day is "the day of thanksgiving" for everything we have and for those things that G-d blessed us by making sure that we do not have (even if we might want them). That is why we ask Him for what we need and not for what we want.
Let us thank G-d for letting us live in the only country in the history of the world that has learned to apply the principles of freedom to everyone without having received a direct divine revelation.
