Ex-patriot Liberal Intellectuals' Theocracy-Escape Plan

Hatched by Dafydd

(Yes, I know it should be "expatriate," but a quote is a quote.)

Friend Lee sent this along; I don't know where he got it, but presumably it's all over the dextrosphere by now, because Big Lizards prides itself on always being the last to know.

Liberals, don't just talk about moving to Canada if McCain wins the White House... do it! Do it using the E.L.I.T.E. plan:

Democrats, don't be defeatists... be ELITE-ists!

I remember reading somewhere that in 2004 Canada told the libs they didn't want them. Maybe we could make some kind of a deal with them. Give Canada some money if they will take them off our hands.

Oddly, if I had the money right now, I would be outta here to a nation I have identified. I think even if we keep Obama out this time, the social dynamic here is so dysfunctional that the future is not bright at all.

I think you are wrong in asserting that "Ex-patriot" is a typo for "Expatriate." Remember Michelle Obama's assertion that because of Barack's success, for the first time she was proud of her country. I think many of our Liberal countrymen, should they decamp, will have done so after a similar nascent patriotism didn't pan out for them.

Doctor Johnson didn't have it quite right. As it turns out, patriotism is the second-last refuge of a scoundrel; the last refuge is Canada.

BigLeeH:

I considered that possibility, but I don't believe liberals would ever describe themselves as "patriots" -- except perhaps in front of TV cameras while they run for office -- even if they were "proud of their country." They consider the word, the very concept of patriotism to be incendiary and divisive.

Look how enraged they have been for years now at Michael Medved referring to America as "the greatest country on God's green earth." See how unmoved they were by Jeremiah Wright's anti-American diatribes. Not even during the first two years of the Clinton presidency were they calling themselves "patriots."

So how can they be ex-patriots? The overwhelmingly likely explanation to me is that the video creators simply misspelled expatriate.

I like that term: dextrosphere. That, of course, makes Kos and similarly minded bloggers part of the sinestrosphere.
