Boy, You People Could Be Editors for the New York Times!

Hatched by Dafydd

I wrote a piece that I meant to title "Despite Libby's Guilt, Prosecution Was Outrageous;" but I accidentally titled it instead Despite Fitzgerald's Guilt, Prosecution Was Outrageous... and nobody noticed!

At least, nobody who noticed bothered mentioning it in a comment... and it got quite a few comments (nine, which is pretty good for Big Lizards). Yeesh.

I have corrected the title, no thanks to you lot. Next time, be more on the ball. Let's try and stay ahead of the power curve here. You're falling down on the job. You screwed the pooch. It's all your fault for not telling me.

Ho! Heads up there for next time, there's a good fellow.

(The Department of Good Excuses would have put this post up yesterday, but traffic was very heavy on the 405, and there's a war on.)

I definitely noticed it, Dafydd. You may take it as a compliment, at least I hope you will, that I attributed it to an attempt on your part at satirical humor. So your mind is not as warped as mine after all? Sniff!~_~

P.S. And as for what gins up comments, if that's what you're after, make your point as elliptically as possible and leave a lot of holes in your argument. I think I have said something along these lines a few times before. Most of the time, it's "Well said, Dafydd".

You mean you didn't do that on purpose?

Good heavens Dafydd, I liked it and it made perfect sense to me. Perhaps it wasn't as grammatically correct as you would have liked, but it conveyed the proper idea. Fitzgerald was guilty of bringing an outrageous prosecution no matter how you phrase it. I will admit that you normally use a better grade of English, but as long as the point was clear, who am I to complain. After all, you are the Big Lizard and I am only a little one who is seeking enlightenment from you.

Thought it read right. No miss, no hiss.

I caught it; frankly, I have been resisting signing up for TypeKey for over a year now. :)

Being used, as we are, to your unpredictable fascination with various styles and uses of language, I think we all just chalked it up to another semi-successful wordplay.
You'll need to screw up in a far more egregious way to get us to complain.

Yep, it's all in your perspective, regardless of how warped it may be. We took it as just another quirk in your quizzical quest.

This just doesn't sound right to me Dafydd. I wasn't paying attention-----what were you saying about "editing"?

Rovin:

I have corrected the phrase "I have correct the title," which is now correct. See if I care!

Remember the Alamo?

Humble me was blinded by Fitzgerald's obvious Guilt and missed Libby's questionable Guilt...so to speak in my own defense.

There’s no such thing as a mistake. That post headline was obviously a Freudian slip and a sign you need years of analysis to understand your relationship with your motherboard.
