Six Billion Chickens Come Home to Roost

Hatched by Dafydd

Ingrid Newkirk, founder and president-for-life of PETA (People for Eating Tasty Animals the Ethical Treatment of Animals), is well known for saying that the massacre of six million Jews during the Holocaust is nothing compared to six billion chickens barbecued each summer.

But now, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) has extracted from an animal "rights" activist the obvious consequence of that sort of mentally unbalanced, misanthropic floccinaucinihilipilification: an explicit call to "assassinate" human beings in order to save "10 million non-human lives" from medical research.

From Robert Novac's column today (scroll to the bottom):

Sen. James Inhofe, chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, at an Oct. 26 hearing drew from an animal rights activist an admission that he advocated murder of medical researchers who performed experiments on animals.

Dr. Jerry Vlasak of North American Animal Liberation was quoted as saying at an animal rights convention: "I don't think you'd have to kill, assassinate too many. I think for five lives, 10 lives, 15 human lives, we could save a million, 2 million, or 10 million non-human lives."

Questioned by Inhofe whether he was "advocating the murder of individuals," Vlasak replied: "I made that statement, and I stand by that statement."

(Ten million non-human lives? What is Jerry "the Pickle" Vlasak counting -- experiments performed on bacteria?)

Well, there you are. Does this really need comment?

Does he know that when free-range chickens aren't eating grain, they're killing and eating insects? How does he think the siblings of those poor little insects feel? The surviving insects demand capital punishment. So, sorry, it's out of our hands.

Well, I live in Minnesota. We're one of the states that professes the state bird was misdeclared and should instead be the mosquito. You know, mosquitos breed in stangnant water, and with more than 10,000 lakes and countless wetlands and marshes we got more than enough mosquito generators.

How should I feel about the hundreds of mosquitos I smash every summer? Or are insects's non-human lives not important enough for this fellow?

It is said that the worst form of degeneracy is to be unwilling to defend one's self. PETA supporters are in a worse form of degeneracy:
Not only are they unable to care enough for others or themselves to be willing to defend themselves from diseases, they want to stop those who are. My son is alive and very healthy in no small part thanks to animal research. Many many millions of other people around the world find themselves safer, healthier and even alive, thanks to animal research.
PETA, between their being found guilty of animal abuse themselves and inciting violence and terror is a group whose leaders should be sued as the leaders of the KKK were a few years back, as a start.

Ten million non-human lives?

Humble gentle me murdered 12 tomatoes, 4,093 pinto beans, 1 onion, 3 bell peppers, 1 pineapple, 6 eggs, 14 oranges, 577 peanuts this week whilst also drinking gallons of water and breathing many liters of innocent air...shame on me, and perhaps its time that i consider cannibalism.

"Does this really need comment?"

No, but that never stopped me before.

May I himbly suggest that an introduction be arranged between Dr. Kevorkian and Dr. Jerry Vlasak? I believe he would save quite a few non-human lives by sacrificing his own. Think of it! Not only as a martyr for his cause, but also—if appropriately disposed of in a landfill—as a food source for hungry rodents and a host carcass for innumerable insects.

A win-win situation, indeed.
